As written in the BVCHA Rules and Regulations:
BVCHA HORSE OF THE YEAR
The BVCHA Horse of the Year will be awarded to the horse that accumulates the most points during the year in a combination of the Open or $25,000 Novice Horse or $5,000 Novice Horse AND the Non-Pro or $35,000 Non-Pro classes.
Following are the possible combinations on the same horse:
OPEN points + Non-Pro points
OPEN points + $35,000 Non-Pro points
Open points + $25,000 Novice Horse points
$25,000 Novice Horse points + Non-Pro points
$25,000 Novice Horse points + $35,000 Non-Pro points
Open points + $5,000 Novice Horse points
$25,000 Novice Horse points + $5,000 Novice Horse points
Non-Pro points + $35,000 Non-Pro points
$5,000 Novice Horse points + $35,000 Non-Pro points
$5,000 Novice Horse points + Non-Pro points
BVCHA RIDER OF THE YEAR
The BVCHA Rider of the Year will be awarded to the rider that accumulates the most points during the year in a combination of the Youth classes, $1,000 Amateur, and $2,000 Limited Rider classes.
To be eligible, the competing horse or rider must qualify for Y/E Awards in both classes (shown in 50% + 1 show and be a member in good standing)
